SWIFT CURRENT DRAG RACING ASSOCIATION
Highway 332 patrol...finally legal...no "RAT" racing from Cantuar!!!
Saturday June 24, 2006 was Swift Current's first drag race in a very long time. Turn out was INCREDIBLE, both spectators and racers alike!!! Lots of fun and SUN!!! Enjoy the photos. Bob's car is still in the "making" stage, but Delbert got 9 solid runs in. You will see some DRAG amigos' cars as well. Lori Bakke with the black Camaro and Guy Roche (sorry 'bout the spelling guys...) with the Falcon and the red Camaro (I believe). Comment the years and details of your cars and times, too if you wish!!! :)
Delbert's Stats on the 65 Chev Belair:

BOBBY will be getting POUTY....

Better post some of the other progress. 2 posts in one day!!! We are on a high speed roll!!!
Bob has made a few changes in engine size for the time being. Should still produce some VERY low numbers.
ANY SPONSERS out there that want to help some QUALITY racers???
Comment on this post your information...we'll see if we want your name on our cars!!! :) lol
Won't comment too much...just post some pics of what's going down....the 1/4 mile soon!!!!

NEWS FLASH: We hear word the NOVA is going to be sporting some "ROUGE!!"
STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO!!!!
Friday May 19, 2006
RESULTS as follows:
60 FT. 1.77
E.T. 12.264
MPH 108.497
There was improvement here...but ditching the hood and scoop (the venturi effect was happening) is going to be the thing that puts this car in an even faster bracket. That is why the Friday night race is called a "test and tune." As the season progresses so do the CARS!!!
The two pics are from the previous race. "Jennifer Affleck" is new to the SIR spectators box...so had to post her and her enthusiasm for speed. The other is pretty self explanatory on what going on here!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT RACE, May 5, 2006

Ran 2 passes but it didn't run good because the altenator wasn't charging. Low voltage doesn't make enough spark for high RPM's. Also with higher compression my mecanical advance springs are too weak so too much advance at idle creates a bad idle.
Time slip:
Reaction: .044
60 ft: 1.86
E.T.: 12.489
M.P.H.: 107.731
Reaction: .044
60 ft: 1.86
E.T.: 12.489
M.P.H.: 107.731
We intend to have these little problems resolved for the next race.
We'll keep you "posted."

2nd Part of Double...

Welcome racer #2. Monty Lane....better known as BOB. Has known some tough times in racing...especially when your JUST completed car burns to the ground.
1972 Chev Nova, 427 big block...potential to run 10.2 s @ 130 mph.
(see 2nd photo)
Life stopped cold for a few days after the fire. 1 year later another NOVA is in the making.
1970 Chev Nova. Alcohol injected 489. Potential to run 9 s @ 150 mph.
The actual numbers will be proven soon...first race May 5/06. Not sure if this beast will be ready. The first trouble will probably race first.
Good Luck.

Meet the first part of DOUBLE TROUBLE....
This is Grandpa Delbert and Haden. Haden is looking forward to the fast cars this summer. This is Delbert's 3rd season of racing at SIR. However, he is no stranger to the puzzlework of producing a powerful, fast car. A mastery that has taken a lifetime.
As you can see by the "silver tips" he is 40+ BUT not by any means slowing down....his RPMS are just speeding up!!
Good luck this season!!!
(He is the first part of the DOUBLE TROUBLE...stay tuned for the other trouble).
